CAR T therapies for the treatment of oncological diseases

OneChain Immunotherapeutics is focused on developing innovative CAR T cell therapies aimed at treating various oncological diseases, particularly acute leukemias and glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). Their lead product, OC-1, targets CD1a and is designed for patients with relapsed/refractory T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL), a condition with limited treatment options and poor survival rates. OC-1 has received Orphan Drug Designation from both the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), highlighting its potential to address significant unmet medical needs. Additionally, OneChain is advancing OC-1d, a dual-target CAR T therapy that aims to enhance treatment efficacy by targeting both CD1a and a newly identified antigen, OC-1.2, thereby broadening the patient population eligible for CAR T therapy.

In addition to their T-ALL therapies, OneChain is developing OC-2, which targets CD22 for B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL), and OC-4, a dual CAR T strategy for GBM that targets IL13a2 and OC-4.2. The company is also exploring a novel platform utilizing γδ T cells, which are not restricted by traditional MHC presentation, allowing for robust anti-tumor responses. This platform focuses on the large-scale generation of human cytotoxic Vδ1+ γδ T cells, which are promising candidates for adoptive cell therapy.
