Bioprojet is a multidisciplinary research institute that focuses on the development of innovative drugs, particularly in the fields of neurology and immunology. Established in 1982, the institute operates a modern research center that spans over 10,000 square meters and is equipped with advanced scientific tools necessary for preclinical research. The center employs around 45 scientists and technicians who work across four specialized units: biochemistry/molecular biology, therapeutic chemistry, pharmacology, and pharmacokinetics/bioanalysis. These units collaborate to identify new drug targets, synthesize and assess chemical compounds, and conduct safety and efficacy studies, ensuring a comprehensive approach to drug development.

The innovation strategy at Bioprojet emphasizes the creation of first-in-class drugs that address unmet therapeutic needs. The research center's work is characterized by a rational development process that focuses on molecules interacting with specific targets, primarily GPCR receptors. Each unit within the center plays a critical role in the drug development pipeline, from the initial identification of research targets and synthesis of new compounds to the assessment of pharmacokinetics and safety. This structured approach enables Bioprojet to design and evaluate approximately 1,000 drugs annually, with a commitment to advancing healthcare solutions through rigorous scientific research.
