Recombinant monoclonal antibodies and enzymes

Aronora is focused on developing innovative biologic drugs aimed at treating life-threatening blood diseases, particularly those with significant unmet medical needs. Their lead product candidate, AB002 (E-WE thrombin), is a first-in-class protein C activator enzyme designed to enhance the concentration of activated protein C (APC) at the site of blood clots. This targeted approach allows AB002 to effectively address pathological thrombi while preserving essential hemostatic functions. Currently in Phase 2 clinical trials, AB002 has received FDA Fast Track designation and is being developed for patients with end-stage renal disease who are intolerant to heparin, as well as for other conditions such as heart attacks and strokes.

In addition to AB002, Aronora is advancing other promising candidates, including AB023 (Gruticibart), a recombinant factor XI antibody that selectively inhibits blood contact activation without affecting thrombin feedback activation. This unique mechanism positions AB023 as a potentially safe antithrombotic agent, currently in Phase 2 trials for preventing thrombotic complications in chronic hemodialysis patients. Other candidates in their pipeline include AB054, which targets factor XII to inhibit thrombin generation and inflammation, and AB062, an antisense oligonucleotide aimed at reducing thrombopoietin synthesis. These innovative therapies reflect Aronora's commitment to addressing critical challenges in blood disease management through novel mechanisms of action.
