ViGeneron is a next-generation gene therapy company focused on developing innovative treatments for ophthalmic diseases that currently have high unmet medical needs. The company has established three proprietary gene therapy platforms designed to address the limitations of existing adeno-associated virus (AAV)-based therapies. The vgAAV vector platform utilizes engineered AAV capsids to enhance the transduction of target cells and facilitate less invasive delivery methods, particularly for retinal applications. This platform also has the potential for broader applications in other tissues, such as the central nervous system and heart. Additionally, the REVeRT vector platform allows for the delivery of larger genes by employing a dual AAV vector approach that utilizes mRNA trans-splicing, thus overcoming the typical size limitations associated with AAVs.

Furthermore, ViGeneron has developed a transactivation platform that enables the simultaneous modulation of multiple genes, independent of their size. This innovative approach allows for the upregulation of certain genes while knocking out others, making it applicable to a range of genetic diseases, including those with complex inheritance patterns.
