Aleta Biotherapeutics is at the forefront of cancer treatment innovation, particularly through its development of CAR T Engagers (CTEs). These novel biologic therapies are designed to enhance the effectiveness of CAR T cell therapies by binding to cancer cells and increasing the expression of target antigens, such as CD19 and CD20. This mechanism not only boosts the density of cancer targets but also helps prevent resistance and escape from therapy, thereby improving the speed and efficacy with which CAR T cells can eliminate cancer cells. Aleta's lead candidate, ALETA-001, is currently undergoing Phase I/II clinical trials aimed at treating patients with B-cell lymphoma and leukemia who have previously received CD19-targeting CAR T cell therapy but have not achieved a complete response.

In addition to ALETA-001, Aleta is advancing several other CTE candidates, including ALETA-004 and ALETA-005, which target acute myeloid leukemia and multiple myeloma, respectively. These CTEs are designed to extend the cancer-killing activity of existing CAR T therapies by linking them to multiple antigens, thereby broadening the therapeutic scope. Aleta's approach addresses critical challenges in CAR T therapy, such as tumor antigen loss and heterogeneity, and aims to provide more effective treatment options for patients with high unmet medical needs in the oncology landscape.
