Recent preclinical data from Catamaran's pipeline highlights two promising CAR-NK therapies: CAT-248 and CAT-179. CAT-248 targets CD70-positive tumors and has demonstrated the ability to significantly reduce tumor growth in renal cell carcinoma models, utilizing a novel engineering solution that combines multiple therapeutic components. Meanwhile, CAT-179, which expresses HER2-CAR, IL-15, and a TGFβ dominant-negative receptor, has shown durable regression of HER2-expressing tumors in various xenograft models. These advancements underscore the potential of Catamaran's TAILWIND® platform to create effective CAR-NK treatments, with plans for first-in-human studies anticipated to begin in 2024.
