About: At BIOMOTUM, we envision a world where all people have access to optimal mobility. Our mission is to optimize human mobility by providing intelligent and intuitive wearable systems, to a wide range of users in the medical and consumer markets. We empower individuals to live healthy and productive lives through the use of our clinically validated products.
The Problem
A person's ability to engage in physical activity, including activities of daily living, is essential to their health, independence, and general wellbeing. According to the CDC, approximately 50 million U.S. adults and children have a physical disability and are unable to engage in some activities of daily living or achieve a sufficient amount of physical activity. Mobility training is critical to improving mobility but there is currently no viable way to deliver a sufficient dose of active gait training.
Our Solution
The BIOMOTUM System addresses the need for individuals to be mobile while being able to engage in sufficient mobility therapy. It allows them to walk independently in the clinic, at home and in the community. Clinical trials have repeatedly demonstrated improvement in mobility outcomes in children with CP. As a smart device, it provides rehabilitation professionals and users activity data to facilitate progression and continued improvement in mobility.
Our History
BIOMOTUM was founded in 2019, by Dr. Zach Lerner, Dr. Ray Browning and Joe Lerner. The founders have been associates for many years. Drs. Lerner and Browning met in 2011 through a shared interest pediatric physical activity as a way to improve chronic diseases and have maintained collaborations since that time.
