Catheter Ablation System for Heart Failure

Axon Therapies Inc. has developed a novel therapeutic approach known as Splanchnic Ablation for Volume Management (SAVM), which targets the Greater Splanchnic Nerve to address the underlying causes of heart failure, particularly in patients with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). The SAVM procedure utilizes the Axon™ Ablation System, which involves a minimally invasive, implant-free technique. During the outpatient procedure, a specialized catheter is inserted into the femoral vein and navigated to a target vessel near the splanchnic nerve. The targeted ablation therapy is then applied to block nerve signals, effectively reducing sympathetic nervous system activity, normalizing volume balance, and improving cardiac function and patient quality of life.
