Cyclic Aspiration System for Ischemic Stroke

RapidPulse, Inc. has developed the RapidPulse™ Aspiration System, a cutting-edge technology designed to enhance the treatment of acute ischemic stroke caused by large vessel occlusions. This system utilizes a precise, pulsed thrombectomy aspiration method, which is a significant advancement over traditional techniques that typically rely on simply grabbing and pulling out the clot. The innovative approach of RapidPulse™ aims to improve reperfusion rates, allowing for more effective clot removal and better patient outcomes. Early clinical trials have demonstrated promising results, with a notable increase in the First Pass Effect (FPE) mTICI≥2c rates, indicating a higher success rate in achieving near-perfect or complete reperfusion on the first attempt.

The RapidPulse™ system is currently undergoing pivotal clinical trials and has not yet received clearance from the US FDA for commercial sale. Initial studies have shown that 69% of patients treated with the RapidPulse™ technology achieved mTICI 2c or 3 during their first pass, significantly outperforming traditional aspiration methods, which only achieved a 38.5% success rate. This technology has been developed with input from healthcare professionals, ensuring that it is user-friendly and effective in real-world clinical settings.
