About: FREZENT is a preclinical stage oncology therapeutics company based in New York. The company is developing bispecific antibodies and antibody-drug conjugates for targeting dormant cancer cells that may cause cancer recurrence.
Dormant cancer cells are tiny residual parts of a tumor, that was not completely eliminated by the treatment. They can remain in the body undetectable for a period of time but eventually these cells can transform back into a fast growing tumor.
FREZENT is developing a novel cancer treatment that will block the reactivation of dormant cancer cells. To achieve this goal, we are developing novel cancer therapeutic that can neutralize metabolic factors supplied tumor microenvironment to support the dormant cancer cells. Being in a dormant state, cancer cells depend on these external supplies, and thus blocking this supply will starve cancer cells and induce cell death.
