Diabeloop has developed a self-learning algorithm known as DBLG1, which utilizes therapeutic artificial intelligence to automate and personalize the treatment of Type 1 diabetes. This innovative technology aims to alleviate the mental burden associated with managing diabetes by continuously analyzing glucose levels and other relevant data. The DBLG1 algorithm operates within a hybrid closed-loop system, where it connects to a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) and an insulin pump. By receiving glucose measurements every five minutes via Bluetooth technology, the algorithm can make real-time adjustments to insulin delivery based on the patient's physiological data, history, and lifestyle factors such as meals and exercise.

In addition to the DBLG1 system, Diabeloop is actively collaborating with various international partners, including Roche Diabetes Care and Terumo Corporation, to expand its automated insulin delivery (AID) solutions across Europe. The company is focused on creating intuitive interfaces for its products, ensuring that the technology is user-friendly and tailored to the needs of patients. This commitment to patient involvement in the development process reflects Diabeloop's mission to empower individuals living with diabetes, allowing them to spend less time managing their condition and more time pursuing their passions.

We want to provide people living with diabetes with an intelligent therapeutic system to regulate blood glucose. 

This project was initiated in 2011 by the CERITD (Centre d'Études et de Recherches pour l'Intensification du Traitement du Diabète) in collaboration with the CEA LETI. After the success of the clinical trials in 2014, we created Diabeloop to bring the project to market and make it available to the largest number of people.

Since spring 2021, DBLG1 System, the first automated insulin delivery device, is being marketed in several European countries: Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands and France.
